Moving Up: Cambridge Binondo

As Edward commences his Toddler Class, I can’t help being emotional. As if it’s me who is graduating to Nursery.
Enrolling Edward in Cambridge Binondo is probably one of the best decisions we have made for Edward. It’s not just a school, it’s like a family. And from July 2014 to March 2015, Edward improved a lot. He started to be more talkative and more independent. I am super proud of him.
It’s as if it was destined, during trial class last June. When Edward held Teacher Kim’s hand, I almost cried. It’s not easy for him to open up but he did instantly with Teacher Kim. I am super happy that he’s Edward’s first teacher. We saw how she cares for Edward and we would forever be thankful.
All the teachers and staffs are super nice. They took good care of Edward.
As the school returns Edward’s stuff. I cried… (Such a Crybaby) Edward brushed by himself again and again.

When I opened the yearbook, the first page I saw was Edward’s page.

After seeing Edward’s bag marker and Seat Marker, I was bawling.

I can’t believe it’s almost a year now. Good thing we’re going back for Summer before going to Big School.
Cambridge Binondo would always be a part of us.

Cruel Romance 錦繡緣:華麗冒險

More or less… It’s been 3 years since I’ve watched a TV Series, much more follow it as soon as episodes are uploaded in YouTube. I’m addicted to it.
I discovered the series while visiting Papa, I saw the scene where 榮錦繡 (陳喬恩) was waiting outside the police station and it was interesting. After going home, I started researching. And as soon as Edward was asleep, the Marathon begins. Initially 3 episodes in 1 night. And then 13 episodes in 1 weekend. It was so worth it. I miss all the cheesy scenes coming from a series.
Okay, enough background… The story goes back in 1940ish Shanghai. Where the leading lady lost everything and went to Shanghai to look for her parent’s murderer. She met the leading man on her way to Shanghai. A knight in Shining Armor who protects her in anyway possible.
I love the character of 左震 (黃曉明). It kinda reminds me of Doumyouji who has a love that is so 單純. That he would do anything for the sake of his love one.
Right now after episode 16, I’m still enjoying it. I’ve made some research as well. The story is based from a book, but a lot of things were changed from it. If the series is good until the end, I would try to look for the book.
Honestly, some of the scenes are not relevant but I guess it helps build the character of the lead. Just that, I’m more into the love story, if it would have a happy ending or not.
Please don’t disappoint me. It’s really been a while that I liked a series so much that I am willing to lose sleep over it.
Full review would be done after the series. Still too early to decide if I would love it until the end. But so far so good… Even the trailers are so enticing. Can’t wait for the weekend.

Road to SAHM

As I countdown my corporate days and the start of my stay at home mom career, I get a bit panicky. As early as now, I am starting to plan Edward’s lessons and what I would do on a day to day basis.
Sure, the net has a lot to offer in terms of lessons but the lack of income means I have to be economical as well. So planning needs to be properly done to avoid wasting resources like printer ink and paper. I’m thankful to Cambridge Binondo for the ideas in Arts. Now, the excess paper we have in cutting are used for mosaic art. Hence, no waste!
I’m concentrating on making the worksheets reusable like the tracing pattern or letters. Definitely, the pressure to save is always there. So I’ll to make sure that the printables are preserved properly so that we can reuse it.
I missed out the first three years of his life. Missing out almost all of his milestones. I’ll make sure to be there as he grows older, to guide him and help him in anyway he wants.
Goodbye corporate and Hello to my family.

Edward is OC

At 2+ years, I can’t help but be amazed how a baby develops OCD. At this early stage I can confirm he is super OC.
1. Whenever his hands gets dirty, he wants to have it clean asap.
2. In doing art, his paper needs to be aligned with the table.
3. He likes sorting things according to their color.
4. He likes to follow a certain pattern like going to Yap house, he would go to the PS room, downstairs and his aunt’s bedroom to play the rest of the time.
5. He doesn’t like to eat food in variety. One at a time. Example… Misua… When he switch to eat chicken, he won’t go back to eat Misua again. Very much like PQ.
6. When you tell a story, you should stick to the details, if you change it, he would protest
7. Whenever his pillowcase is distorted, he gets fuzzy.
8. In playing Lego, he has a specific pattern of how things should be made. Same goes with blocks. If you deviate, we would redo it.
9. Even in Play-Dohs, the first thing he do would stick and everytime he plays it, it’s always the same.
I found it fascinating how he likes things in order. Being chaotic myself, I can’t relate to his stress when things are not done properly.

Duty Free Haul

My sisters came back from Japan today and Mama wants to check out Duty Free. It was very different from what I remembered. Edward had fun exploring and with his haul.
Kinder Chocolate Plush with 12 bars of Chocolate hidden in the backpack. $17.25.
image
Lightning McQueen Smarties Dispenser. $21.35, Edward was so happy to get this. It literally burned my wallet haha.
image
Smarties with Lightning Top. $8.90. This was more expensive than the one we saw in Subic, the difference is it’s not expired yet. So we would be able to enjoy the candy.
image
Lightning Cup with Straw at $10.60. It contains some candies inside.
image
Lightning McQueen Fan at $8.40 with candies inside. This is similar to the Jake we bought him before.
image
M&M Tin Cans with 250g of M&M. There are 5 variants, wasn’t able to get the orange one.
image
I was teasing Kalvin that I’ll return the nuts as I think we would be overspending. Haha.
image
5 pieces of Combos at $3 each. Same price if you would buy in bulk or by piece. You just get a bag for free.
image
I was so happy to see this Cadbury. Although it was a bit pricey. Almost $10, I was telling Kalvin I’ll return it but he wants to try as well. Ended up getting it.
image
Kalvin personally selected the next two items.
image
image
Finally different flavors of Doritos.
image
We might have overspent but it was a fun experience, Edward had a lot of fun as well. He played in the Chupa Chups car and only stopped playing when another kid played with it.
I told Edward to cover his eyes as we pass through the toys section. When I asked him to open, he got so excited that he almost jumped out of the shopping cart. He saw tons of trucks. Since, we didn’t buy him one. I allowed him to play for awhile.
image
This is how Edward looked when we got the Lightning, he was super happy.
image
One thing he likes that we weren’t able to get is the M&M that grows on tree.
image
And when we got home, he was so happy with the Kinder Plush, we named Iggy.

8 Cuts

Because it’s compensation day, we have decided to try this restaurant. The place is located in Serendra and the walk going there was super worth it.
The ambiance is pretty casual, just right for a burger place…

I had a few choices to begin with but I chose Piggy in the end. Probably, the most sinful meal I ever had in my life and it was so worth it. You can make your own burger too.

We tried the onion rings as well as it was raving with reviews in food blogs and yup… They were right! It was super good. For 65 Php. This is really worth it. It has a barbecue flavor in it. It was crunchy and super flavorful. Addicting even… Haha. And no, it’s not the camera angle making the rings big. It was really big!!!

Overall, my team and I enjoyed the meal. The meat is juicy and so flavorful. The only problem is how to eat it without being messy. Setting aside poshness, it’s probably the best burger I have ever tasted.

Disney Cars Memory Game

Hi Folks! Since Edward is a big fan of Disney Cars, I've layout a memory game for him. Instead of buying a set for 199 in Toy Kingdom, I chose his favorite characters and printed out our own set. We've pasted on a cereal box and we are ready to go!
Cars1 Cars2
You can customize your own by using the file below. I got the pictures from Takara Tomy
